We study mechanisms underlying chromosome segregation in meiosis using the model system C. elegans. Forward and reverse genetics approaches are combined with state of the art cell biology to study the contribution of meiotic chromosome movement to this process (Penkner et al., 2007, Penkner et al., 2009, Baudrimont et al., 2010, Woglar et al., 2013 and Link et al., 2018).
You will be expected to develop and drive the research project in close collaboration with the group leader, Verena Jantsch. You must have a Ph.D. in genetics / molecular biology and a strong track record demonstrating your knowledge in genetics and molecular biology. Experience in working with C. elegans, designing and performing genetic screens and good knowledge in cell biology or a history in working on recombination will be advantageous.
How to apply
If interested apply to Verena.Jantsch@univie.ac.at. Please include curriculum vitae, motivation letter, and three contacts from where references can be obtained until December 6.
